Harnais Flycolibri

Du coup, j'ai demandé si ça ne compressait pas les côtes sans spreader bar:Alex from FlyColibri a écrit : Hammock harness has no spreader bar. So you connect chicken loop on front horizontal dyneema line. Better is the use of homologated carabiner which works far better than any chicken loop if you don't need to ride unhooked.
et voilà sa réponse, toujours aussi rapide:Stef a écrit :I am a bit afraid to have some ribs compression without the spreader. I live in South of France and we can get very strong winds here. I tend to use very small kites (4.5 and 3m) but when wind reaches 30+/40+ knots there is always some power .... could you comment on this? Would it not be too problematic without a spreader? I have no problem riding without a hook but without spreader ???
Voilà une vidéo envoyée par Alex qui montre le harnais. Je l'ai mise sur le compte LesFoilz de Vimeo (mais nous n'avons pas d'action chez Fly Colibri!!!!!)Alex from FlyColibri a écrit : If you hydrofoil the pull on harness is minimal, so the comfort is 100%, on wave riding also the pull is low (we ride underpowered) so it's ok, only for freestyle and race we tend to ride overpowered... In fact all "foilers" are super happy with Hammock, "waivers" on traditional surfboard also, some discomfort reported for freestylers (not all of them by the way).
I answer to your "ribs afraid" question, Hammock harness is placed a little bit lower than usual waist harness, so part of the load goes on your hips, where a textile finds the shape of your body. Moreover it is tailor-made so fits very precisely. It wraps your body so you feel better the kite movements.
If more support needed, the seat accessory will be soon available to apply on the harness, loading a bit the legs and saving more the back. If preferred as waist simply disconnect the "seat"..
Another important fact is that kiting on a 12m in 10kn the load (power we have) should be THE SAME than kiting 9m in 15kn and 5m in 30kn ... 3m in 40kn .....if get stronger means "windsurf time" or wait drinking a beer.. and mandatory fact for more fun and safety is fly the smallest kite possible for wind conditions! (laminar flow). Instead flying a too big kite means create turbulence and drag.
Flycolibri products concept is to ride the smallest kite / windsurf sail possible thanks to low weight gear, special kite lines and connection, so the feeling into the elements gets at its highest level... drift, responsiveness, upwind performance, light feeling, playful kiteloops ...
Hope to meet you on the water,
